However since there is no setting for fixed length and there is no "Change" event to monitor the length as the user types the options are slim.
You can also use an attached schema to "flag" text that is too long. Boy, wouldn't that make a user happy? :-( You can validate the text entry "OnExit" and truncate it to a specified length after the fact.
Unfortunately you cannot set a string limit for real time text entry in content controls. However there is no "combo box" in legacy forms. The field you recall is a legacy text formfield.
